The LETG is committed to identifying, developing and promoting best practice in legal training and development, and representing the interests of its members in ensuring quality in legal education, and appropriateness of the regulation of legal education and training to the profession’s needs.
The Legal Education and Training Group was established some 15 years ago by a group of firms who identified common needs and common concerns in relation to legal education and training.
The LETG liaises regularly with the Solicitors Regulation Authority ("SRA").

Members' opinions are sought through consultations and symposiums.
The LETG Committee recognises the continous development of the training function in firms and provides opportunities for those involved in legal training to get to know each other and to share experience and ideas.
Members are invited to social events such as the Annual Dinner and regular "Learn and Dine".
Workshops are aimed at helping those coming into training to acquire the skills they will need to provide the best service and at providing updates to the more experienced training and development professional. Training providers may showcase different types of training or innovative new approaches, which may be of interest to firms.
The two-day Annual Conference is excellent opportunity for Members to attend themed professional development and to share experiences with others from the legal education arena.
