Law firm L&D professionals

Anyone in a UK law firm with a L&D aspect to their role or responsible for lawyer L&D within an in-house team can join Learning in Law. A minimal annual membership fee is charged to help run Learning in Law which operates as a not-for-profit business with committee members dedicating their time for free.

Learning in Law fulfils four key functions for its members:

  • to act as a think tank on behalf of member firms on all training and professional development issues;
  • to provide networking opportunities;
  • to enable knowledge sharing; and
  • to support and train the learning & development professional.

Training providers and consultants

We’re proud to have strong relationships with leading training providers, coaches and consultants in our sector.

We offer a “Recommended Provider” status for individuals and consultancies endorsed by at least one Learning in Law member. Their profiles, references and specialisms are detailed on the website for members to see and search. Recommended providers can respond to open questions from members on the Q&A board and they are invited to join the annual conference and networking and awards events.

Providers are not able to become full Learning in Law members. This approach maintains the impartiality, openness and confidentiality between law firm members and avoids members receiving unsolicited sales calls or emails.

We are always looking to expand our network of providers, so please get in touch if you have worked with one of our member law firms.

Anyone working in L&D in a Central London law firm may also be interested in contacting the City of London Law Society which has a training committee and often runs interesting events.
